Arizona Wildcats: This Team Reminds Me Of The ’97 Team.

Both the ’97 team and this team came from out of nowhere in the tournament; but once they got a couple tourney wins under their belts everyone knew they would be special.  Every five years or so, they get these stacked one-year wonder teams. If they win tonight; it could be revenge for that stacked ’01 team that had Arenas, Gardner, Walton, Jefferson, and Woods.  Go ‘Cats!

  1. McHuston says:

The Wildcats are a good start toward pushing back the East Coast favoritism in the NCAA tourney.

  2. Thanks for the comment. I am Big East fan, but I now admit the East Coast bias is real. However, I think another factor contributing to the favoritism is that college analysts forget this isn't the 80s and 90s anymore; experience doesn't mean too much when the other team so much more talented than you. The Big East good teams, but not as many NBA players as the Pac-10 or Big-10.

  3. BTW, I've been to Broken Arrow before. Nice town, I stayed at the then-brand new TownPlace Suites not too far from the Vintage Games video game store and Carl's Jr.
