The Top 20 Quarterback Seasons of the 1970s.

The quarterbacks are ranked by their rating compared to the rest of the league; 100 is average, 115 or so is Pro Bowl Level and above 130 is an all-time great season.  QB Rating not the perfect measure of a quarterback, but it is probably the best available.  Roger Staubach is well represented on the list, and all of my older friends and uncles tell me he was the best QB in the ’70s.

Staubach is my All-Time favorite QB.4 "all-time" great seasons through the 70's? Rather impressive.

  2. My all-time fave is Steve Young, but if I group up in the 70's, it would have probably been Roger the Dodger.

Nice stats and interesting way of rating all-time QB's only by there QB rating and not by touchdown passes or yards thrown. Definitely go with Fran Tarkenton, purple pride.

  4. Barnez, thanks for the feedback. You can't go wrong with Fran; he was one of the precursors, along with Roger the Dodger, to my favorite QB, Steve Young.
