HOF: The Don Mattingly Wing

This page is dedicated to the players who were dominant but not in the Hall because of the short period of their dominance.   The first player I think of in this category is Don Mattingly.  For a 4 or 5 year period in the early to mid 80s he was arguably the best hitter in baseball, and probably the best defensive first basemen in the American League; that has to count for something when it comes to HOF voting.

In the NBA, Grant Hill is probably the most comparable player to Donnie baseball; this page will eventually include NBA and NFL players.
